We recommend that you choose courses worth about 30 credits (ECTS – European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). You can, for example, learn another foreign language or take courses in different institutes and faculties with the agreement of the teacher concerned. Please note that for the application, no learning agreement should be sent to the International Bureau. However, if you need to make a learning agreement for your home university before you arrive in Halle, we advise you to contact your study coordinator/study coordinator in Halle, as not all the details of the study programmes can be addressed by the International Office. After contacting your study coordinator, please use the following study programmes to conclude your learning agreement. For more information on course content, please see the www.burg-halle.de/hochschule/studium/studierenden-info/studien-und-pruefungsordnungenstudienplaene/ Renting an apartment often requires a deposit. This generally corresponds to one to two months of rental, excluding incidental costs deposited in a savings account. After the end of the lease, your deposit will be refunded – as long as you return the apartment without being damaged. Please note that students who wish to study in FREE MOVER at our university (i.e. without a specific cooperation agreement between higher education institutions) must find a scientific tutor at the Institute of the University of Halle. To find such a tutor, you can either consult the websites of the faculty or institute you are interested in, or search among the academic ERASMUS coordinators who often agree to consult Free Mover. Exchange students apply for an online portal at MLU Halle-Wittenberg. Once the International Office (firstname.lastname@example.org) has received an official nomination from the partner university, an email will be sent to the student with the corresponding link to the online portal.
Free Mover is an exchange student who studies a semester or two in Halle without there being, like Erasmus, a concrete cooperation agreement between their university and the MLU. Rental contracts for residences are usually concluded for at least one year. If you have any questions about the residences, please contact the Studentenwerk Leipzig directly. Alternatively, students can move to the private residence BaseCamp Leipzig….
